The Deadzone is an interactive sonic art installation which encourages participants to explore and play in a procedurally-driven environment designed by Lillie Simpson-Little, Sebastian Lee and William Gerwat. It is created in Pure Data, which is a programmable graphical interface. By using a webcam the program is able to pick up the players location in a room and will play a carefully designed soundscape dependent on where the player is within the environment, the patch will also use an arduino to controll a DMX light and it will change colour dependant on the soundscape. It will be first showcased at the GSNG (Game Sound Next-Gen) event and it will allow for anyone to play! - Head to www.gsng.co.uk for more details!

The event GSNG has now passed, and videos/pictures of the soundscape will be up soon. Meanwhile, download and checkout the Pure Data patch! (Requires the externals GEM, Comport and freeverb).
